"I applaud your efforts. Having traveled around the United States, and finding wine in many, many grocery stores, it seems archaic that in Minnesota we cannot have it in our grocery stores."
- Minnetonka resident
"I think allowing sales in grocery stores is a great idea – one that most reasonable states already have!"
- St. Paul resident
"It [buying wine in grocery stores] would make grocery shopping handier."

The Minnesota Agri-Growth Council and the Minnesota AFL-CIO each passed resolutions stating their support for the proposal to allow wine sales in grocery stores.
The Minnesota Agri-Growth Council, which has worked for more than 30 years promoting Minnesota's food and fiber industry, cited the convenience enjoyed by consumers in 33 other states, along with its faith in Minnesota's respected grocery retailers to handle the responsibility of wine sales, as reasons for its support.
The Council also noted that the evolution of the grocery store into a one-stop shop is what consumers have come to expect. The Agri-Growth Council sees potential for food and wine promotions in grocery stores to stimulate additional food sales, thus benefiting Minnesota's agricultural economy.
The Minnesota AFL-CIO supports the Wine With Dinner proposal. Over 20,000 Minnesotans who belong to the United Food and Commerical Workers (UFCW) work in grocery stores in our state. Even though many grocery jobs are only part-time, union workers earn better wages and benefits than most full-time, non-union retail workers. Through their union, they have negotiated health insurance and pension plans fully funded by their employers.
We'd like to thank these organizations for supporting Wine With Dinner!
